The tomato arrived in Spain from Mexico by the hand of Hernán Cortés, years later to the discovery of America. Since its arrival, the tomato was treated as an ornamental plant and after a few years it began to be used as a food. The first sauce was made two centuries later of the arrival of the tomato to Spain, to be more exact, in the middle of the 17th century. Spain was the first country to make the industrial production of fried tomato, but it had to wait until the 20th century to get the first homemade fried tomato in the market. The homemade fried tomato has an authentic tomato flavor, without reaching any extreme acidity or sweetness. In addition, it retains the smooth aroma of natural tomatoes. The texture is thicker compared to other natural sauces, due to the characteristics of the tomato.
